FANS' TEAM TO PLAY IN CLOSE-SEASON TOURNAMENT

Portly Vale to play in Worldnet Tournament this weekend

in the annual close-season tournament with club representation from the UK and France.th-20thPVFC fans’ team Portly Vale travel to Preston to take part in Worldnet 2014 from July 18

Having reached the quarter and semi finals in recent years, the club, managed by Jonny Hancock want to push on and go for glory this year.

They have been drawn in a tough group alongside Preston North End, Darlington and Manchester City.

Portly Vale compete in the IFA league, founded to bring fans together regardless of age, race or ability, where the two supporters sides will meet and play a full 90 minute game.

Those games usually in the morning before they watch the professional sides in the afternoon, meaning they’ve played in places ranging from Yeovil to Sheffield and beyond.

Hopes of meeting local rivals Stoke City in the latter stages look slim after they were drawn against holders FC Halifax, previous winners RC Lens and IFA cup winners Hearts.
