Colin Can't Wait to Feed the Pope

As a winger, you have to know your strikers and how they play. No one knows Vale’s main goal threat, Tom Pope better than Colin Daniel, who played and trained with the target man during his time at Crewe Alexandra.

The Valiants new wide-man recently spoke to the press about what he feels his strengths are and how he will fit into the set-up at Vale Park.

“I know that wingers are a big part in how Port Vale play and I like to take players on and get as many crosses as I can in the box for Tom Pope, so I feel like I’m a good match. Especially as I’d rather he gets the goals than me, as I like taking the assists.”

Daniel's can’t wait to play with Tom Pope again as he feels he is a great striker.

“When you make a run and the striker can hold up the ball, you know that a goal is going to come instead of the ball coming back to you via the opposition defence. So working with Tom who can do that is good.”

As well as Tom Pope, Colin has also played with new signings and fellow wingers Mark Marshall and Byron Moore during his career.

“Byron Moore is a great signing for Vale, I played with him during my Crewe Alexandra days and in fact we were roomies so we’re good friends and he’s going to bring a lot to the team.

“I know Mark quite well from my time at Greys Athletic where I went on loan from Crewe so it’s been nice seeing him again.”

On a final note Colin is ready to put his head down and fight for a place in the team.

“I’m just looking to work hard and do well for the club”
