A fan's view of things Port Vale

After the at times nervy win at Plymouth the other night, it’s back to the league tomorrow to see if we can close the gap to the play off places.

At the moment we are letting a few goals in, but we can score a few ourselves which certainly makes it more exciting for the watching spectators. 3-2 wins may not be good for the nerves but it’s top class entertainment!

Injuries have affected the back four of late plus the sad circumstances surrounding Carl Dickinson’s absence at Brentford last week, and he should get a thunderous round of applause when he runs out tomorrow after turning out at Plymouth following the death of his mother.

The defence will also be bolstered by the return of the unavailable Jack Grimmer and Joe Davis. Both did well in a difficult game at Brentford and should help us to tighten up the back line tomorrow.

Another new face may well be Florent Cuvelier, the club’s first ever Belgian signing, and if he repeats the form he showed at Walsall a couple of years ago then we could be in for a treat.

Top nine of League One and still in the FA Cup in the middle of January – who would have thought that? It’s not a bad season so far and there’s plenty more to play for yet!
