Ryan Lloyd Hoping Performances For Reserves Will Make Impression

  • Winger wanted to impress manager Rob Page
  • Youngster scored and played vital part in reserves' win
  • Page was in attendance for second string's victory over Morecambe

Port Vale winger Ryan Lloyd is hoping his performances for the reserves will help him push for a place in Rob Page’s first team plans.

The young midfielder was instrumental in the second string’s dominant 4-0 win over Morecambe on Wednesday as the manager watched on from the stands.

He scored once and was a thorn in the side of the Shrimps’ defence all afternoon, helping create numerous chances for the likes of Achille Campion and Johnny Kapend up front.

Having been on the bench for the Valiants’ trip to Gillingham last weekend, Lloyd admits he was determined to make a good impression.

“Of course you always want to impress the manager and hopefully be in his plans for the games ahead,” he said.

“Like I say I’ve just got to make sure I’m ready for if he does decide to give me a chance.”
