Vale Boss Speaks To Valiant Player After Win
- Page delighted with the application of his players
- The 40-year-old enjoyed the build-up to the two goals
- Boss also praised Chris Neal for penalty save
Port Vale manager Rob Page was full of praise for the reaction of his players to last weekend’s loss to Coventry City as they beat Crawley Town 2-1.
Goals from Michael Brown, his third in five games, and Louis Dodds, the 28-year-old’s first of the season, ensured the Valiants came away from Broadfield Stadium with all three points.
Chris Neal made a second-half penalty save to deny former Vale forward Gavin Tomlin, diving low to his right to make the stop.
Speaking to Valiant Player following the win, Page expressed his delight at the character of his players – especially after the disappointment of their defeat to the Sky Blues last Saturday.
“I’m really pleased with the lads’ performance today,” the Vale manager said.
“I asked for a reaction out of them after the disappointment of the performance in last Saturday’s Coventry City game and I certainly got that today.”
