Port Vale Donate Footballs To Ugandan Primary School

Club Helps Rock Of Joy Children's Centre

Port Vale has helped make an African school’s sporting hopes a reality by donating around 20 footballs to the learning facility.

The Rock of Joy Children’s Centre is a community-owned primary school in Uganda, located in the Kampala District and Rubaga North Sub-County.

It is supported by the Kabanda Trust, which has a number of volunteer supporters from Stoke-on-Trent who visit the school on a regular basis.

The Trust supports various schools in Uganda and helps provide free primary teaching for 400 children.

The money used to purchase the footballs was raised by Vale’s academy and the project has had a big effect on the club’s youth team.

Pastor Steve, pictured above with the children and founder of the school, said: “For many of the children their difficult home situation is a very big hindrance to their progress.

“They have little food, have hard, physical work at home and come to school tired and hungry.

“We thank our volunteers for supporting us as we see this as the way forward and a brighter future for our children.”
