Michael Brown Looking Forward To Facing Former Club

Midfielder Speaks To Valiant Player Ahead Of Blades Clash

  • Brown excited to see some familiar faces on 26 December
  • Veteran expecting a tough game against Nigel Clough's men
  • Believes fans can play a big part at Vale Park

Port Vale midfielder Michael Brown is looking forward to facing former club Sheffield United on Boxing Day.

The 37-year-old spent around five years at Bramall Lane earlier in his career and was part of the side that reached the FA Cup semi-final in 2003.

Over a decade later Brown is still having an impact on matches for Vale, sitting in front of the back four and occasionally bombing forward to help out in attack.

Speaking to Valiant Player in the lead-up to the match against the Blades, he admitted it will be nice to see a few familiar faces on Friday afternoon.

“I always look for fixtures against my old clubs and I had a special time at Sheffield United so it will be greta to see a lot of the people I’ve not seen for a while,” he said.

“I’m sure they’ll have fantastic support as usual, I think they’re bringing two-and-a-half or three thousand down.

“But first and foremost we’ve got to try and get a win for Port Vale but it’ll be great to play against them again.”
