10: *DID YOU KNOW?:It was in 1895 that John Garland, Landlord of the Featherstall and Junction Hotel, decided to form a football club. As Pine Villa, they played in the Oldham Junior League. In 1899 the local professional club, Oldham County, went out of existence and one of the liquidators persuaded Pine Villa to take over their ground at Sheepfoot Lane and change their name to Oldham Athletic.
