Defender looking forward to final five matches

Carl Dickinson has reiterated what he said following the victory over Walsall last weekend, saying Vale will be looking to win each of their final five matches of the season, starting with the game at Meadow Lane on Saturday.

At the same time, the Vale defender acknowledges that that match against Notts County if going to a difficult one, especially as the Magpies believe that ther home for is key to them avoiding the drop.

He said: “We know it is going to be a tough one on Saturday because they are scrapping for their lives.

if we can put a string of wins together between now and the end of the season, who knows what will happen? “We just want to go there and give a good account of ourselves and hopefully get a decent result because

“We want to win every one of our last five games if we can and I think that’s what we need to do because we don’t want to chuck all of this hard work away and look as if we are happy with what we finish with.

“We need to strive to keep improving and hopefully if we can put together a string of results from now until the end of the season it will sand us in good stead for next season.

“From what I have seen with Shaun Derry – and I have played against him a few times – he is a fighter and I am sure he will be putting that into his team.

“We are expecting a really tough game on Saturday. They showed when they came here that they have got some really good lads and it is up to us to make sure we give a good account of ourselves and hopefully get the right result.”
