Vale Statement

Traffic flow and parking information

Saturday’s visit of Coventry City brings another of the ‘big’ SkyBet League One clubs to Vale Park.

They will be backed by a large contingent of visiting supporters and we are implementing some measures to help both the club stewards and our colleagues at Staffordshire Police ensure the day goes smoothly and safely.

Tommy’s will again be reserved for visiting supporters and the upper area of the Hamil Road car park will be reserved for visitors’ coaches and mini buses.

Access for cars on Hamil Road car parks will be via gates A and B.

Other measures being introduced for the first time will be some controls on traffic flow on Hamil Road both prior to and following the match.

The pre-match measures will be to help the arrival of supporters at the ground gain quick and easy access to the coach and car parks.

The post-match measures will entail the exits from the car parks and the coach park area being controlled by stewards. Traffic directional instructions will be implemented.

The holding back of cars accessing Hamil Road while the pedestrian flow is at its peak will be the most noticeable change to our normal after-match operation.

We hope to use these new procedures as required throughout the season and trust you will bear with us while we implement the new measures.

Ch Supt Juliet Prince from Staffordshire Police added: "We're continuing to work closely with the club to support the stewarding operation and keep fans safe. We want true supporters attending the game to be able to do so in a safe, family friendly environment."
