Vale picked up their first home win of the season in the Central League in emphatic style with an excellent 6-2 thumping of Tranmere Rovers on a soaking wet Bycars training ground yesterday afternoon. Kaid Mohamed scored twice with Rob Taylor, Louis Tambini, Richard Duffy and Louis Dodds also getting on the scoresheet.
Vale started brightly and took the lead in only the second minute. Mohamed weaved his way into the box only to be tripped by ‘keeper Bradley Watkins and he duly got up to convert the penalty.

Mohamed then shot wide before Vale scored again on the half hour mark. Taylor did well before slipping the ball through to Louis Tambini in space and he strode forward before firing the ball under the ‘keeper.
Three minutes later it was 4-0 when after a corner, the ball fell to Richard Duffy in the box and he shot into the far corner of the net. Tranmere pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time when the ball fell to Cole Stockton on the edge of the box and he drove the ball firmly past Sam Johnson.
