Release the white smoke… Pope’s back
Call the Vatican, get the scented sticks, and release the white smoke… The pope’s back!. No not the old chap in Rome but our very own pontiff of Burslem. As sure as the actual Pope is Catholic, Tom’s back to scoring ways, notching his fourth of the season on Saturday, to take him level with Loft on 4 league goals, 6 for the season. Like Lofty, Pope is one of our key players from last season who appear to be steadily adapting to life in the third tier. If Pope continues to score at a similar frequency then he is sure to notch around the 20 mark, a heavenly total for the “Sneyd Green sniper” at this level. Divine proof that our Pope is no one-season wonder and is more determined (and able) than ever to answer the prayers of our fans and bring Championship football back to Vale Park some time in the future.
