Crewe - three defeats in 18 visits

Now that we moved into the top ten of the table, it’s a big week coming up. A local derby at Crewe, a home game on Tuesday v Preston and then a visit to bogey ground Walsall. A good haul of points from that lot, and I would be happy with seven, could see us very well placed going into the cup interlude.

Crewe isn’t our main derby, that one is at least a year away unless the FA Cup throws up a beauty, but it’s the next best thing. It’s usually a good day out, a bit like a home game really. Our following will be 50% up on their last home crowd and it’s a place where we have only lost three times on our last 18 visits.

After recent results we will be expected to win, but it’s never that easy or else we’d all be millionaires by now. Just play our normal game, as Corporal Jones would say don’t panic, and I’m sure we will be okay.

The next few weeks could have a big bearing on our season and I’m glad the club have introduced the half season ticket and the cheaper one for the six games in December and January. From our position in the table it’s the best time to do such a thing and hopefully the take up will bear that out. Onward and upward!
