Duffy has fingers crossed

Duffy ready for derby game - if selected

Richard Duffy is keeping his fingers crossed he will be in the side to face Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon after getting an unexpected recall to the side last weekend against Shrewsbury Town.

If selected he feels he is well prepared for a game many Vale fans regards as a local derby, having played in similar matches before/

He said: “It was a bit of a derby on Saturday so it gave us a little taste of what is coming up on Saturday. It will be a good atmosphere – we will take a load of fans with us and hopefully bring the points home with us.

“Form goes out of the window in these types of games. In derby games there are no favourites really, even the home sides are not really a favourite.

“It’s down to a flip of coin if you are looking from the outside, but we will be going tere full of confidence with four wins out of five for us and we are confident we can bring home three points.

“I played in derby games with Exeter against Plymouth and Torquay, so I have played I a few and I would imagine most of the ads have had a taste of them.

“We will all keep a clear head and keep eleven players on the pitch and then we will have the best chance of winning the game.”
