NEAL BELIEVES

Vale 'keeper confindent in his team mates

Chris Neal is confident Vale can see out the last fourteen games of the season on a high and feels the team can achieve their goal come the end of April.

The Vale ‘keeper says: “The way we have played through the season, we are at the top of the league because of the way we have played and after thirty two games we are still up there.

“If you are up there, can you stay there? We have proved that we can and now there are fourteen important games left, but we believe we can stay there until the end of the season.

“We are in the top three, there is a healthy gap there and our goal difference is massive as well so it is going to be an important fourteen games.

“We are confident, we have a confident and an experienced squad and we know we can stay up there.”

Neal experienced promotion with Shrewsbury Town last season and it is something  he is hungry to have taste of once again now he is playing for the Vale

He said: “There is no better feeling than what happened last year and it is kind of mirrored this year. You are in a successful team and that’s where you want to be as a footballer.

“I would say we are in a better position this year that we (Shrewsbury) were last year and if we don’t get promoted we only have ourselves to blame, but I believe we will get promoted.

“I think the experience we have got around the squad will stand us in good stead between now and the end of the season.

“The manager brought in new faces in January and I think that will bolster the squad. There are a lot of players in the squad who have experienced promotion before. Everyone here knows what it takes and that can only help us.”
