Jenny Bonson and Louis Dodds feature this week
It is a busy time for Fantasy League teams right now. No sooner is Gameweek 13 over and done with than Gameweek 14 starts – tonight to be precise. If you haven’t made your transfer(s) yet, make sure you do so before you are too late or you are likely to be left behind.
This week we look at two teams I the top 25, each with contrasting fortunes. Signal Radio’s very own news ninja, with her rather aptly names team, News Ninja, has slipped up a bit this week.
With kingpin Robin van Persie out injured, Jenny hasn’t replaced the Dutch striker, either as a temporary measure or otherwise, leaving her to play with ten men (not literally, you understand)
In Matchweek 13 Jenny managed a total of 47 points which isn’t usually too bad, but as one of the front runners she is obviously disappointed to have slipped into 23rd place in the league.
Let’s have a look at her team then:
In goal she has Joe Hart (oh dear, enough said) and a back three of Phil Jagielka (6 points), Jan Vertonghen (1) and Per Mertesacker (6).
In midfield Jenny has Jack Colback (1), Kevin Nolan (3), Aaron Ramsey (15) and Gnegneri Yaya Touré (7), whilst up front she has the trio of Jay Rodriguez (6), Robin van Persie (0) and Sergio Agüero (2)
Perhaps there is a lesson here for everybody, if players are out injured or dropped, replace them using your transfers, you can always bring them back in later if you wish.
One person who has used his transfers very wisely is Vale’s Louis Dodds – his oddly-named Essssssss it? Have amassed a huge 99 points this week and have now moved up into 7th spot.
Let’s have a look at his side then and see if we can pick up any tips: In goal Louis has gone for Hugo Lloris (0 points). In front of his ‘keeper Louis has gone for a back four consisting of Phil Jagielka (6), Seamus Coleman (13), Kyle Walker (9) and Per Mertesacker (6).
He has four players across the middle of the park in Aaron Ramsey (15), Mesut Özil (11), Gnegneri Yaya Touré (7) and Morgan Schneiderlin (1).
His front pairing of Wayne Rooney (captain, 26) and Loïc Remy (5) earned him a further 51 points between them leaving Louis just one point short of a ton – fantastic!
