Vale reserves continued their good form
Central League – Regional
November 2012th27
Shrewsbury Town 1 Port Vale 2
Sam Morsy swung over a dangerous looking corner and Rob Taylor headed firmly past former Vale ’keeper Joe Anyon. Shrewsbury equalised soon afterwards though when Tom Bradshaw scored with a 15 yard shot into the bottom corner. Sean McAllister was enjoying life against his former club and Vale regained the lead just before half time.
A through ball saw Louis Dodds outpace the home defence and he finished in fine style. Almost immediately Vale nearly made it 3-1 when a Morsy free kick from the edge of the box thumped against the crossbar.
In the second half Ryan Lloyd shot over and Taylor forced a decent save out of Anyon as Vale dominated. The first time Ryan Boot was tested in the second half was ten minutes from time when Sam Westray forced him to parry an effort.
