Our number 23 was disappointed that the Valiants did not make our domination count in 1-0 loss to Morecambe on Tuesday night.

- Port Vale midfielder speaks to the media following a 1-0 defeat at Morecambe in League One
- Pett: “Very disappointed, there's a lot of positives, but it's about putting the ball at the back of the net, and we didn't do that.”
Port Vale midfielder Tom Pett says the team is ‘disappointed’ that the Valiants did not put away any of their chances as they fell to a narrow defeat in Lancashire.
Despite controlling most of the action, with many chances falling Vale’s way, it was Adam Mayor’s second-half strike that was the difference at the Mazuma Stadium.
On the defeat, Pett said: “[There are] disappointed people in that changing room.
“[We] dominated the game, but at the end of the day, it's about putting the ball in the back of the net, they’ve done it from the only shot they've had on target, and we haven't done that.
“Very disappointed, there's a lot of positives, but it's about putting the ball at the back of the net, and we didn't do that.”
Pett came closest to finding the back of the net for Darrell Clarke’s side, but his looping volley came back off the woodwork, and it wasn’t to be for Vale.
“I had a volley on the edge of the box, which I backed myself to beat the keeper from it, hit the bar,” said our number 23.
“We're all going to have chances, we've got to look at ways to score goals, and it's not just the frontmen, it's all around, so we all have a hand in that.”
Despite the defeat, our vice-captain stressed that the team will be looking to bounce back when we play Bolton Wanderers at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday
The midfielder said: “I'm sure we'll go again, Saturday.
“It's about getting momentum; we came off the pitch on Saturday and said how we now have got to kick on and get a little run together.
“It's back to the drawing board, we've got a strong mentality, we showed that last season, and we've shown that a number of times this season.
“We know what we could have done better now, but obviously we can go and watch the game, watch the clips and it's about going on and starting another run.”
