Final Third Development League announce content competition

Opportunity for aspiring journalists to win a monthly prize for the best feature piece about the oldest reserve league in England.

The Final Third Development League gets into full swing this week and this season we are extending the search for talented individuals looking to take their first significant steps in the game.

Whilst the squads of teams in the west, east and south divisions are looking to progress their careers on the field, Final Third Sports Media's attention – as sponsors of the oldest reserve league in England – is on the press box.

Final Third are running a season-long competition that aims to raise awareness of the Development League on a local and national level, and they need your help.

Aspiring journalists are invited to submit feature content centred around reserve team football in the Final Third Development League by emailing it to content@developmentleague.co.uk.

It's that simple. There is no age limit, no word count, no restrictions to how many pieces you submit, or to the nature of what you provide (written, audio, video, photography etc). Use whatever media you feel is appropriate to tell the story you wish to tell.

The closing date for entries each month will be the last day of the month and the winner will be announced during the first week of the following month at www.finalthird.developmentleague.co.uk.

Chris Rivett, managing director of Final Third Sports Media, explained:

“Like clubs, we are inundated with CVs from budding journalists on a daily basis, looking for an opportunity to get involved and show what they can do.

“We hope this competition will provide a platform for some of those people to add to their portfolio and strengthen their chances of forging a career in the sports industry.”

There will be a monthly prize during the course of the campaign, along with an overall winner at the end of the season. Details of the prizes will be revealed later this month.
