Port Vale FC are delighted to announce that striker, Jayden Stockley, has agreed a two-year deal with The Valiants, subject to EFL and FA approval.
Stockley, 30, joins Darren Moore’s side following eighteen months with Fleetwood Town FC and becomes the Gaffer’s third signing of the summer.
Stockley began his career as an academy prospect of AFC Bournemouth and would go on to make his professional debut for The Cherries in a Football League Trophy fixture against Northampton Town at the age of sixteen, Bournemouth’s then second-youngest player to appear professionally for the club.
A fruitful loan stint with Exeter City would set up a permanent transfer to Scottish Premiership side, Aberdeen, where he remained for a season before making the decision to join The Grecians on a permanent basis.
36 goals in 66 games for the Devonshire side earned Jayden a move to Championship outfit, Preston North End. He would spend two seasons in Lancashire before seeing his loan deal turn permanent at Charlton Athletic where he would score 31 goals 89 games for The Adicks prior to moving to Fleetwood Town permanently in January 2023.
Throughout his time with the Cod Army, the experienced striker scored thirteen goals and created ten assists across all competitions; claiming the club’s top scorer award in the 2023/24 season.
Speaking of his latest summer signing, Port Vale Manager, Darren Moore, said:
“Jayden is an experienced striker with a proven track record of scoring goals and will add an aggressive, combative and quality dynamic to our final third.
“He is another player who sets himself the highest standards both on and off the pitch and will be a real role model to the younger players in our squad.
“I am absolutely delighted to welcome Jayden to Vale Park and we are all looking forward to working closely with him next season.”
