Michael Brown is determined to get back to winning ways in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday afternoon as Forest Green Rovers make the trip to Vale Park.
The visiting side sit one place above Vale in the league and the manager knows that it is important that his team pick up points as quickly as possible.
Tuesday's defeat away to Luton Town meant it was a disappointing evening for the Valiants, but the staff and players will be looking to turn things around at the weekend.
On the fixture, Brown said: "We keep saying it, this is another tough game in a tough league. We've got to do a lot more to make sure we are creating chances.
"We are creating them at the moment, not a lot, but we need to make sure we are working more opportunities so we can score some goals."
After two difficult away fixtures at Coventry City and Luton Town respectively, Brown is happy to return to home soil and he is urging supporters to get behind the players as they have done so far this season.
"The fans know that we need a win and when Vale Park is at full volume it's great," he said.
"We know the problem with where we are at, and as players and staff we know that people are disappointed.
"Everyone understands the frustrations, but we need them behind us as much as they can and we really appreciate the support.
"After the Luton game, we have got to move on and hopefully we can give the Valiants something to cheer about on Saturday."
He added: "It's a tough time, we need some results and we look forward to the games and the other ones coming up.
"We all believe that we can win the matches that are coming our way, but let's look at Forest Green first and see if we can get three points."
