Last Time We Met Yeovil Town

Vale head south to Somerset tonight determined to beat Yeovil Town and secure their place in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round.

The two sides last faced each other just over a week ago, with a late equaliser from Jordan Green forcing the tie to go to a replay.

Tom Pope had given the Valiants a deserved lead just after the hour mark at Vale Park, but it wasn’t to be for Neil Aspin’s men as they let the lead slip in the 90th minute.

It finished all square between the two sides in a Sky Bet League Two clash at Huish Park back in September too, with Vale conceding after getting themselves in front.

It was Tom Pope who breached the Yeovil back line again to score the opening goal of the game on 29 minutes, but Otis Khan levelled things midway through the second half.

James Gibbons was then sent off for Vale late on, but the hosts couldn’t make the one-man advantage count and the game petered out to a 1-1 stalemate.
