We are delighted to confirm the signing of Burnley defender, Tom Anderson on a season long-loan, with the option of a recall in January, subject to FA, EFL and Premier League approval.
The 23 year-old, who is predominantly a centre back, will join up with Michael Brown’s squad for the Sky Bet League Two campaign.
Anderson has been at Burnley since he was seven years-old and has risen through the ranks at the club in the Centre of Excellence.
He signed a scholarship deal in the Summer of 2010 and was named captain during the 2011/12 campaign and led his side to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup, earning his first professional contract.
During his first season as a pro, Tom went on loan to Barrow, establishing himself as a first team regular for the Conference Premier side at the time, before his loan ending in January and going back out to Conference Premier side Hyde.
Unfortunately, Anderson suffered a knee ligament injury and returned to Burnley to recover and following recovery he had loan spells at Halifax Town and Lincoln City.
The following campaign, the defender joined Carlisle United, before he found a food run of games in League One with Chesterfield from 2016 to 2017.
Anderson made 58 appearances during his time with the Spireites, scoring two goals at the Proact Stadiun.
Stay tuned to the official website and social media channels throughout the week to hear from our latest signing.
