The First Words - Anthony de Freitas

Take a look at what our new signing had to say after he put pen to paper.

Earlier today, we were delighted to announce the signing of French midfielder Anthony de Freitas from AS Monaco.

The midfielder is one of several players who have come into Vale Park this week and the fourth signing under Bruno Ribeiro.

Anthony is 22 years-old and made his professional debut last season, when he went out on loan to Varzim.

After he had signed his deal, de Freitas spoke briefly about his move to Port Vale.

He said: "I am very happy to finally get the deal done and I can't wait to get going now and get out to training, we did some work this morning.

"The goal is for us to get promoted this season to the Championship and hopefully as a team we can achieve it.

"I am feeling ready to go, even if the holidays are just over, I'm excited to get going here at Port Vale.

"The fans who don't know much about me can expect fighting spirit, I am a fighter. I come from Monaco and i will look to improve my game here on the field for the supporters and the club, I will give my maximum for the club."
