A fan's view of things Port Vale
You know that the end of the season is approaching when the new season ticket prices are released.
You can never please everybody, but I don’t think they are too bad for anyone who wants to watch the Vale on a regular basis. The crux is now whether we can sell the 4,300 needed to allow the budget for the manager to have a playing budget of £1.9 million. The increase in the pay on the day price should steer anyone who intends to go more than a few games towards a season ticket as well.
There are a couple of things that would give the sales a hefty boost. The first one being if Micky Adams signs his contract, and the other one is if we have a storming end to the season on the pitch.
From that point of view it is always best to have a not so good first half of the campaign and then a great second half. Everybody would be up for it then and looking forward to the future. Teams who do it the other way round may finish in the same place, but the perception is different, and could be costly.
It should be an important few months ahead for this great club of ours, with many decisions to be made both on and off the field. Let’s hope it all works out for the better.
